The '80s: The game takes place in 1984. The title of the game, however, means it doesn't exactly require a MENSA membership to guess. Using audio logs, tape recorders, and images granted by floating balls of light, the character, and by extension, the player, try to piece together just what happened to the town. It focuses on an unknown survivor of an apocalyptic event in a (fictional) small English village in Shropshire, who appears to be the only person left in the town. If anyone has an AMD solution for this issue then it would be more than welcome in this community hub. and of course, uninstalling and reinstalling the game several times :( + trying to update and roll-back display drivers + using Task Manager to alter CPU core usage in affinity settings.
+ using Task Manager to set priority to 'realtime' + using TimerTool to force timer instructions to 0.5 ms.
+ altering "OverrideGXDIadapter" in the same config file. + altering "HighResTimer" to equal '1' in the config file. + adjusting every conceivable setting in AMD Radeon Software (both globally and individually) + adjusting the in-game performance settings from the options menu. + manually adjusting graphics settings in Windows 10's Graphics menu. + disabling the steam overlay / AMD overlay. I have tried the following things to remedy this issue but none of them have worked (in isolation or in any ust me) My FPS drops to around 10-15 fps which makes immersion in the game difficult for me. I, myself, am hoping for a bit of clarity with regards to modern AMD builds especially since I cannot get this game to run smoothly irrespective of the aforementioned wealth of fixes suggested over the years.
A multitude of fixes have been suggested with many of them applying only to NVidia builds. FPS issues with this game are infamous by this point.
